Cookie Notice
Last updated: October 28, 2026
Cookies are small files that websites store in your browser. This notice explains which ones may be used when you read the Tribune.
Cookies we set
None. The Tribune itself does not set cookies. Our anonymous view counter uses your browser's local storage to remember which stories you opened today, so a view is not counted twice. That note never leaves your device and holds no personal information. See the Privacy Policy for how the counter works.
Advertising cookies (Google and partners)
When ads are shown, Google and other third-party vendors may set and read cookies, or use similar technologies such as web beacons and device identifiers, to serve ads, limit how often you see an ad, measure performance and prevent fraud. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- Opt out of personalized ads from Google: Google Ads Settings.
- Opt out of other participating vendors: www.aboutads.info (US) or www.youronlinechoices.eu (Europe).
- How Google uses this information: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Google's list of advertising cookies: policies.google.com/technologies/cookies.
If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will be less tailored to you. Where the law requires it, we will ask for your consent before advertising cookies are used, and you can change your choice at any time.

Managing cookies
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies and site data in their settings. Blocking cookies will not stop you from reading the Tribune.
